International Public Organization ‘Understanding’ (hereafter referred to as IPO ‘Understanding’) is a non-government, non-commercial, independent organization created by citizens in accordance with legislation of the Republic of Belarus.  People with common interests have banded together to achieve different goals in the fields of the humanities (civil, social, cultural etc).

IPO ‘Understanding’ is a peacemaking charitable organization that provides aid and assistance for the elderly of Belarus, veterans of the WWII, victims of the Holocaust and those who have suffered under Nazi persecution.  IPO ‘Understanding’ also works on behalf of other needy people according to the statutes and contributes to the understanding and development of collaboration between nations.

IPO ‘Understanding’ is a follower of the Belarusian Republic Foundation ‘Understanding and Reconciliation’.  We continue in its tradition of supporting the needs of the elderly, those who have suffered under Nazi persecution during the  WWII and in working on behalf of the mentioned people.

IPO ‘Understanding’ is allowed to establish contacts, communicate with organizations and persons and finalize agreements in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus.

The main body of the work force is made up of individuals who have worked at the Belarusian Republic Foundation ‘Understanding and Reconciliation’, the International non-government organization ‘Revival and Future’ and the International non-government organization ‘Harmony’.  They have been collaborating for nearly 10 years with native and foreign organizations and have completed many projects at the international and local level.

  Particular attention must be paid to the great progress that has been made by the workers of IPO «Understanding».  Many thanks and accolades in recognition for the high level of teamwork and job interchangeability.  The workers of IPO «Understanding» realize the needs of the first and second target groups.  They have access to the groups and have the necessary resources to satisfy their needs.  They have contacted social groups, central and local government institutions in Belarus and abroad.  They have completed numerous social projects and have been recognized and rewarded in Belarus and abroad.   They are also experienced in cooperating with the media, the public, Nazi victims’ organizations, non-government organizations, schools, gymnasiums, colleges and universities.
