19.03.2024 a group of participants included honored guests – prisoners of concentration camps and ghettos, representatives of public organizations, foreign partners represented by representatives of the Dortmund Educational Center and the Minsk International Educational Center named after Y. Rau, members of the International public association(IPA) “Mutual Understanding” made a trip to the Ozarichi memorial, where a death camp was established during the Great Patriotic War.
In the Ozarichi camp, without food, shelter and in the open air, many people, including the elderly, women and children, were doomed to certain death from cold, hunger and disease.
On this mournful day, visitors laid flowers and wreaths at the foot of the memorial. In a moment of silence, all those present paid tribute to the memory of those whose lives were brutally taken away.
The legacy of the Ozarichi reminds us of the price of freedom and the need to fight for justice and peace in the world. IPA «Mutual Understanding» is committed to strengthening cooperation between peoples and cultures through historical education, cultural exchange and mutual understanding. We continue our work, inspired by the example of the resilience and fortitude of the survivors, and encourage the public to actively participate in our initiatives.
