“One-time payment in recognition of ghetto work”.
Purpose: to realize remuneration to persecuted persons for work in ghetto that was not forced labor and has not yet been taken into account in determining social security benefits.
Funding: the payment is carried out by IPA “Mutual understanding” in accordance with the Directive of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany dated October 1, 2007 through the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (Central and Eastern Europe Foundation – CEEF).
The role and objectives:
- assistance in the creation of a set of documents for sending to the Federal Department of Central Services and open property issues: filling out an application, translating documents into German, a photocopy of the documents required for payment;
- creation and updating of an electronic data bank for persons belonging to the target group;
- tax exemption of funds received for payments;
- creating an agreement with a partner bank on the implementation of these payments;
- control over the timeliness of the start and realization of payments;
- preparation and sending of the necessary reporting.
